Fundraising

We put the FUN in FUNdraising!

Students and their families have several opportunities to fundraise to help the band program.  Fundraisers are not just work...they are also a great time to spend together with your fellow band members and band parents, and they are a great way to make new friends!

Be on the lookout for current fundraiser information from Mr. Morin, and check back at this website often!

Current Fundraisers

Work Speedway Gates May 29, & 30th

WHEN:
Saturday, May 29th from 8:00a thru possibly as early as 4p or as late as 9 or 10p
Sunday, May 30th from 11:00a thru possibly as early as 7p or 8p

You can work any of the days you are available. You are needed the whole shift, no splitting shifts. If you say you will work, then you are expected to be there as if this were your real job. They count on us to staff these positions. Not showing up reflects negatively on the ENTIRE Concord Band Program.

HOW MUCH YOU CAN EARN:   This is a FairShare fundraiser, and each person will earn approx. $55.  Others can work toward your FairShare, too!   For example if you, your mom, and your uncle work, then you would raise around $165 for the day. (WOW!).  You can also work and put your earnings toward the general fund.

WHAT TO WEAR:  You are required to wear a white shirt (no print), khaki bottoms, and closed toe tennis shoes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: You will be working the gates either scanning tickets and/or checking bags and coolers.  Hannah and Anthony Clark supervise gates on the back side of the track, and most likely you will work at these gates.  This race is expected to sell out so it will be busy and time will go fast.

Email/Call Hannah Clark to claim a spot, 704-490-5044.

Flapjack Fundraiser - Sat. June 5th, 7a-10a

Applebee's on Hwy 29 in Concord is hosting a "Flapjack Fundraiser" for the Concord Band Program from 7-10a on Saturday, June 5th! Tickets for the "All-U-Can-Eat" pancake breakfast are $7 ea and can be purchased through guard members. Walk-ins on the day of the event are also welcome!

HOW MUCH YOU CAN EARN: This is a FairShare fundraiser, and $5 of every ticket sold by you/your child will be credited to their account. Tickets are available from Mr. Morin at the High School, and Jill at the Middle School. All unsold tickets must be returned, with money from sold tickets, to Mr. Morin by June 4th. All tickets are numbered for tracking, and members will be responsible for each ticket not returned or sold.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Applebee's will provide the kitchen staff, and Guard members will be serving/busing tables, greeting patrons, and advertising to walk-in traffic. Email Tracy Rhodes to sign-up to help on the day of the event.

WHAT TO WEAR:  Wear a Concord Band/Winterguard shirt, khaki bottoms, and closed toe tennis shoes.

Email/Call Tracy Rhodes for more information 704-791-2706.

Cabarrus Arena

Working at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center is a great opportunity for you and your band student to earn money toward their FairShare.   Your friends and family can also work to earn money toward your band student's FairShare!

All opportunities are filled on a first-come basis.  Email  or call Hannah Clark, '09-10 Area Coordinator, to reserve your slot.  Hannah will need first/last names and contact phone numbers of all persons working with/for your student.

Current Opportunities:

Email Hannah Clark, arena@concordhsband.com with questions/issues.

Note from the Coordinator:
I will call you a few days before the event to remind you and to go over some important details of when you arrive. Even if you have worked the arena before, there are a few changes this year.   This is a great opportunity to raise your FairShare so don’t miss taking advantage of this! If you have any questions please email me arena@concordhsband.com or call me 704 490 5044.

Thank you,
Hannah Clark
Arena Coordinator

On-Going Fundraisers

Community Sponsorships:
Is there someone you know in the community that might be willing to sponsor the band progam by making a financial donation?  Perhaps a business owner, a community group, or just someone interested in helping fund music education? Open the Sponsorship Letter and add your own personal note at the end of the letter.  A peronal note can make all the difference

If all members mailed 10 letters and we averaged $10.00 per request, the sum total of the donations would exceed over $5,000 to fund much needed items like instruments and music!

Be sure to include a stamped self addressed envelope for their convenience and ask that they mail the donation to:

Matching Gift Program

Did you know that many companies offer matching gift programs?   It's an easy way to double your donation!

Many companies support their employees' community service and provide this as a part of their benefits package. To see if your company offers a Matching Gifts program, contact your Human Resources department.  If your company does offer matching gifts,  request a receipt when you make your donation to the band program, and follow the steps through your company's benefits department.
