Marching Spiders "Band-quet" final details!

The awards banquet for the 2009 Spider Marching Band will be held at "The Lakes" on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Directions can be found here. There will be arrow signs and star-shaped balloons helping mark the way from Old Concord-Salisbury Rd.

Check-in at the front door.  If you have not paid or made arrangements to pay, we will accept payment at the door if you have pre-registered.

Please be flexible with seating arrangements.  The Lakes will be very near capacity, so their servers will be seating groups of people to ensure we all fit!.

The menu is an Italian Pasta Buffet with salad, rolls, tea, and water, with chocolate, vanilla, and marbled cake for dessert.  We are asking those of you who can to please bring a 2-liter of soda to give more refreshment options, especially through the evening.

Dinner will begin at 6:30p.m., with the awards ceremony (including Senior Superlatives!) starting at 7:15p. After the conclusion of the awards, a dance will be held on-site, ending at 10:30p.m.

Please thank the owners of The Lakes!   Deanna Winstead is a former band parent, and her husband, Doug, will be our DJ.   They are giving us a very wonderful evening at a substantial discount because they understand the purpose of marching band, and they know first-hand all the hard work that band kids and parents give to make marching band such a great experience!

Concord Marching Spiders Featured in the Independent Tribune

Concord High Schools' Spider Marching Band was featured in an article appearing in the Indepedent Tribune on Friday, August 21st!   The article, written by Independent Tribune reporter Jennifer Groover, can be read here.

Spider Marching Band

The marching band is the largest and most visible ensemble in the band department.   No other group will perform as often, or to as many people in as many places as the marching band.  Wherever they travel, they are school ambassadors, and Mr. Morin expects every student to represent him/herself, the band, and the school community in superior fashion.

SaxaphoneFor many students, it may be the first competitive group where they feel welcomed and accomplished.  It is the ensemble that offers the greatest number of achievement levels to students.   All students willing to devote their time and energies to the Spider Marching Band are welcome in the group, even if they have not previously participated in band activities.

Each season, the Spider Marching Band has tackled an increasingly more challenging marching show with the majority of the progressive musical concepts and design elements crafted by Mr. Morin, his staff, and student leaders.
