Colorguard and WinterguardCongratulations to our 2 winterguards for placing 2nd (HS) and 3rd(MS) at the Premiere Central competition on Feb 6th! Due to winter weather, the Feb 13th competition has been cancelled. Our groups will continue their season by competing on Feb. 27th at our very own Concord Classic!), in exhibition on March 5th at the "Cabarrus County Winter Review" hosted by J.M Robinson HS, additional competitions in March, and at the CWEA Championships on March 27th. If you've never attended a competition for Winterguard before, please take an opportunity to experience one and support our excellent groups this year! Concord is pleased to field 2 units to compete in the 2010 winter ensemble season. They open their season of competition on February 6th at Sun Valley H.S. Concord High School's winterguard has 9 members and will begin competing in the Scholastic Regional A class. Their show features the song, "She Will Be Loved," as performed by the Vitamin String Quartet. Concord Middle School's winterguard has 19 members and will compete in the Cadet class. Their show features the song, "Silent Movie," by Natasha Bedingfield. The Concord Colorguard is the visual ensemble for the Spider Marching Band. Members are selected through an audition process in the Spring prior to marching season, and they practice both with the Concord “Marching Spiders” and separately throughout the Summer & Fall. The indoor Winterguard is chosen by audition in late fall and performs on the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association (CWEA) circuit from January-April.
